Miser or not....

Mark 7:20-23 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

Miser or not.....

I just finished a book on employment, what kind of employer or employee...
The man was detailing working for miserly employers, whose reputations were not the best, but the pay was great...or employers who had good reputations were  creative, empowering, but the pay was less...choices in the business world and how we deal with each....what our stress levels will accommodate...

It was opportune as well as the movies on tv are Scrooge-themed around this holiday season...there are so many events now that are fundraisers for a variety of needy organizations ....cans of food for admittance, Christmas trees  with ornaments listing needs of certain people...toys for tots boxes placed strategically....Salvation Army bell ringers.....prefilled grocery bags to purchase for the local food banks...corporations advertising their use of funds  for charity.... volumes of letters filled with needs of every culture, nation...needs...needs...needs...

Looking back over the years of our business, I hope we had the reputation of the more positive side of things and not the miserly reputation. I hope our employees felt valued for their help...empowered. ...and not too much stress...I know some of them sure knew a lot more than I ever did...and I appreciate their loyalty...

Thank YOU for the years of our business....the blessings of it...for so many ....help each person to have the wisdom to choose what is right for them....in employment, weighing the pros and cons prayerfully ....in their life's vocations....

Proverbs 22:1-4, 9 A good name is more desirable than great riches;to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. Rich and poor have this in common:The Lord is the Maker of them all. The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. Humility is the fear of the Lord;its wages are riches and honor and life. The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

Proverbs 28:22, 25 The stingy are eager to get rich and are unaware that poverty awaits them. The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper.
