Found notes….4…preparing for Christmas…12
Us….
None of these former people getting prepared for Christmas had the New Testament to read about the birth of Christ that we do…
They had the prophecies of the old…they had the promises just as we do…but they lived it…what we read about now…
We read that a child was born of a virgin…
We read that his mother was obedient to God’s calling…
We read that he was born in Bethlehem….
We read that angels announced his birth to shepherds…
We read that his earthly father was trustworthy…
We read that kings bowed down and offered gifts…
We read that some rejected, denied and try to kill him as a child…
Are we/am I prepared for the King of Kings?
Have we found Him and are renewing our hearts and minds toward His second coming?
Do we meet him daily in His Word, prayer, praise?
Have we prepared our family for Jesus?
Have we prepared our homes for Jesus?
Are we looking for ways to serve him?
Do I search him out like the shepherds and kings?
Am I /are we obedient to his calling?
Am I/are we trustworthy, upright, of good reputation?
Or do I deny, reject this Savior who offers eternal salvation?
For to us a child is born,to us a son is given;and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be calledWonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isa.9.6
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him.
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John.1:1-5,John.1.9-14

Thank you for indulging me these twelve “found notes”…they were a lot shorter the first time.. . Just long enough for two or three breakout sessions…was exciting to flesh them out a bit more…
I hope we are all prepared for Christmas…
Blessings…
