Completed…
During this season of giving, I have noticed many advertisements about various organizations who help people who need homes…not just any home but ones that are especially designed for their physical challenges. Everything is custom built for the needs of the individuals…
The advertisement shows the new home owner going through their new home in awe and wonder at the care with which the home fulfilled so many needs that they have…it was finished for them…
As I read this paragraph in Exodus, I thought of these houses…they were completed for someone special with specific designs…by craftsmen who were particularly chosen to complete them…inspected with a stamp of approval…filled with furnishings that met specifications of the person…and they moved in….they were home…and were blessed…
“So all the work on the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was completed. The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses.
Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases; the covering of ram skins dyed red and the covering of another durable leather and the shielding curtain;
the ark of the covenant law with its poles and the atonement cover; the table with all its articles and the bread of the Presence;
the pure gold lamp stand with its row of lamps and all its accessories, and the olive oil for the light;
the gold altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the curtain for the entrance to the tent; the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils;
the basin with its stand; the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard; the ropes and tent pegs for the courtyard; all the furnishings for the tabernacle, the tent of meeting; and the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when serving as priests.
The Israelites had done all the work just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the Lord had commanded. So Moses blessed them.”
Exod.39.32-43
Paul wrote of building in Corinthians…
“ By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames. Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
1 Corinthians 3:10-17
James wrote…
“ Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Jas.1.4
We are especially designed as well, for a specific purpose, by God …he delights in us, furnishing us with special abilities, to house his Spirit…we are complete in Him…
Thank YOU….
Jesus is the master builder…
