Palms and celebrations….
As I was reading in the book Revelation, this caught my attention…
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.
They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
And they cried out in a loud voice:“Salvation belongs to our God,who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures.
They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying:
“Amen!Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever.Amen!”
Rev.7.9-12
It reminded me of this triumphant entry of Christ’s…
The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.
They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,“Hosanna!”“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”“Blessed is the king of Israel!”
Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written: “Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion;see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.”
John.12.12-15
Which took me to palm branches…which led to the Festival of Tabernacles…
The Lord said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days.
On the first day you are to take branches from luxuriant trees—from palms, willows and other leafy trees—and rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.
Celebrate this as a festival to the Lord for seven days each year. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come; celebrate it in the seventh month.
Lev.23.33-34,Lev.23.40-41
Which led to this article…the sentence at the end…
“As described in the Book of Leviticus, this holiday is a time for the Jews to rejoice in God’s bounty, whether it’s His salvation in taking them out of bondage in Egypt or providing them with a plentiful harvest (the festival coincides with the end of the harvest season). Ultimately, though, Sukkot celebrates our trust in God and relying completely on our relationship with Him.”

Which in turn ended right back at the beginning verses…those in white robes…who are…
Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”
I answered, “Sir, you know.”
And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Therefore,“they are before the throne of Godand serve him day and night in his temple;and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. ‘Never again will they hunger;never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,’nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd;‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”
Rev.7.13-17
They relied completely on the Lord even in the great tribulation to come…hummm…
Thank YOU….
Salvation belongs to our God…
