Color….
My father in law was colorblind, so when, in later years, he would make hooked pillows or pictures, my mother in law would lay out the colors of yarn for him…sometimes he didn’t necessarily follow those color schemes and the color combinations weren’t exactly what you expect to be used in certain places… we all cherished his pillows as his labor of love…no mater what the color combinations happened to be…
I love color…even though my favorite colors are subdued…I appreciate the brighter colors…flowers in their array of color, the world around us…painting, sewing, quilting with a myriad of color…
Flower arrangements in a multitude of places including church, jewelry made of a variety of stones…color…
We send colorful flowers for celebrations or to cheer others…
I have noticed when visiting various places that I have had the privilege to see…various governments tend to delete color, people living in grays, subdued colors rather than the joys of their colorful culture of times past…buildings are drab, even the emotions are drab…happier people have more color…(just my observations…)
God, as the Creator, must enjoy color, he created it…from the beginning of the Word to the end, color is used …from the lush blues and greens of the sky and plant life, the animals in their array of designs and color, the rainbow created as a promise…the variety of skin colors around the world…the minerals, the rocks, used for decorations on the priestly garments, the layers of the tabernacle in the desert…to the descriptions of heaven when we find as John speaks in the book of Revelations….
Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
Gen.9.16
“Make the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen—the work of skilled hands. It is to have two shoulder pieces attached to two of its corners, so it can be fastened. Its skillfully woven waistband is to be like it—of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen. “Fashion a breastpiece for making decisions—the work of skilled hands. Make it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen. It is to be square—a span long and a span wide—and folded double. Then mount four rows of precious stones on it. The first row shall be carnelian, chrysolite and beryl; the second row shall be turquoise, lapis lazuli and emerald; the third row shall be jacinth, agate and amethyst; the fourth row shall be topaz, onyx and jasper. Mount them in gold filigree settings. There are to be twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.

Opening up the book of Revelations…
After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads.
Rev.4.1-4
The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long. The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits thick. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.
