The Emperor’s New Clothes….
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.
This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
1 Tim 2:1-6
My desire is and has been to stay away from politics in these commentaries…even as Paul has written to Timothy… “ all those in authority “…he doesn’t list out only the good ones or the bad ones …but “all”…
I, in my humanness, want to complain, grumble about current affairs…and I even “talk” to the TV newscasters or commentators about their bias one way or another and how it “should” be…my “advice” to leaders on what the should do…or I feel like there are those who treat others as the foolish emperor in the Emperor’s New Clothes…trying to make what is good , bad or visa versa…
We need to be informed, but Paul, basically says, our important job is to pray for those who rule…God is in control and He knows what He is doing…and He is the final authority….
Thank YOU….
He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.
Ps.110.6
The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
Col.1.15-18
Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.
Titus.3.1-2
The King is coming ….
