The other day, I was at a neighbor’s house, getting the summer tour of her prolific garden. A huge waist-high kale plant stood proudly extending its many leaves, (mine had produced well and then faded away, so I was a little envious, “thou shalt not covet”, okay, okay). The neighbor lovingly said, “would you like some, I have plenty?”...sharing in her abundance...
Harvest time can bring sharing time..l have been given herbs, popcorn, various kinds of cucumbers, tomatoes, pattypan squash, prunes, green beans, zucchini, potatoes, grapes, fresh corn...and I have been able to share, peaches, tomatoes, zucchini...what blessings all around...sharing abundance with others, reaping from their abundance...
I was searching for the word “share” ...two meanings came to light, one being “a portion” and the , “giving away a part, divide”...
I was looking at the giving away, or divide use...mainly because it is so much fun and a blessing to be able to give, but it is great to be a part of another’s blessing or abundance...everyone wins...we can make another smile or lighten a heart...
We have so much to give, to share ...even when seemingly nothing...the spiritual gifts we have been given...smiles as we walk, a friendly hello, prayers, comfort, food, and most importantly, the gospel of Jesus Christ...
Thank YOU for sharing....from Your Garden that we might share from ours...You gave it all...

Sharing gifts...
For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
