Psalm 121...where do we look for help?

Psalm 121...Where do we look for help?...

Journeying this week, we have gone into the depths of the earth to the cold Shoshone Ice caves, walked trails in the Craters of the Moon and now into mountains of Eastern Idaho...the cold, the fire, the heights...

I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Psalm 121:1-8

God is so attentive...reading my Women’s Bible study for this week is psalm 121, opened my computer Bible programs for today, psalm 121,

Journey for today into the mountains...how can He be clearer?

Two of my grandparents asked that Psalm 121 be read at their memorials...having lived in the foothills of central California...they liked that analogy...and they lived in those hills, lives well lived, raising three boys through the ups and downs of life...

My cousin inherited my grandfather’s journals, so he has taken those journals and made them into a book of their lives, what a treasure...

I was on another level with them, the first grandchild and a granddaughter, which was different from raising sons. I still went out shooting, riding, feeding cattle with my grand father, but also sewed, crafted, read, cooked with my grandmother...I sewed on her treadle sewing machine, softly/ smoothly making the treadle go back and forth, up and down...

But from The hills we descended every Sunday to attend a local church...that church is where I earned my first Bible after memorizing Psalm 23, sang my first solo, attended my first Sunday school, met my first missionaries...my first impression of a God of the universe, Jesus as a Savior...

they all became part of my life...reading scriptures, singing, attendance, missionaries, Savior, help in times of trouble...God ...Jesus...the Holy Spirit...

He is there in the depths of the caves; the heat of the craters, trials of life; the mountain tops of life...He is my Help, the maker of heaven and earth, my shade, my watcher of my life...

Thank YOU....
