Caesarea of Palestine....

Caesarea of Palestine...

If you have time to read this  website, do...so interesting if you like history...the town keeps coming up in scripture...

I have been reading the book of Acts, one chapter at a time...and after being at and standing on the rocks of some of the places mentioned in the book, it is easy to picture the pomp, the pageantry, the people who stood there centuries ago...the sights, the sounds, the pleading, the accusations, the persuasions, the disdain, the rejection, the “almost persuaded “, the questions that took place...

Now there is rubble, foundations, some statue pieces, a amphitheater, a view, of what must have been grand buildings, pools, a prison, a beautiful harbor...

Philip lived here, Peter met Cornelius here, Paul passed through and later was imprisoned until he went to Rome...

It was on a main thoroughfare between Tyre and Egypt, on the  Mediterranean Sea...

Cool breezes fro the ocean makes it a great place...even as I write this, it is 83 with a high of 85 degrees, slight breeze...

In Acts 25 plus, Paul lays out the gospel, pleading with them to listen, not only with their ears but their hearts...he desires that all who hear become Christians...we do the same all over the world today...

(Jesus says to Paul)17 I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?”
Paul replied, “Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.”
Acts 26:17-18,28-29

Thank YOU for so great a witness to the life You would have each to live...saved by your grace to all who believe...
