Thousands, no, make that millions of people give the gifts of smiles in a multitude of ways...from Campbell with his gifts of bears to sick children to those who show up with a canoe to a flooded house or the fireman who find a treasure in a burned home...to the doctors who take time to sit down with distraught parents ....or the next door neighbor who shares the Christ of hope ...or the server of a meal at a food kitchen....or the clerk who wishes you a good day as they send us on our way...

Smiles lift the heart, lift the face and may put a new attitude in our heart for a time...

The experiment of smiling at people when we pass in malls, sidewalks, hallways or on our walks...may be just what another needs to change their day...I know it has mine at times...a friendly face, a smiling face can chase away the blues...

It is Operation Christmas Child box filling time again...readying those boxes to be sent around the world to share hope, to share the Word, to share the eternal compassionate good news of Jesus Christ...millions are done each year...millions are given away to children each year...

I was watching a short film about the ministry of Samaritans Purse and was brought back to having the privilege of giving out those boxes in Columbia this last spring...and the miles of smiles...it was a gift to me to see the delight on the faces of children...from a shoe box of simple things and their own book of hope..l
