Exodus 34:6-7

Exodus 34:6-7

Many years ago, five friends were drawn together to work through the passage in Exodus 34:6-7.
One wrote, the rest of us critiqued, studied, edited and finally published it for a women's Bible study...it was one of the most amazing times, we drew closer as friends, we studied deeply, we prayed, we experienced life together as God worked in our lives through those few words...

Exodus 34:6-7 And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

We have seen His compassion, His mercy, His graciousness, His long suffering, His abundant goodness and truth, His forgiveness and judgement...we saw it then, week by week and how He worked in each of our lives and we are still experiencing it down through the years since that study...

I was reminded of this verse again today...it drew me back not only in time, but to God's everlasting presence in my life...how He works, how He moves...even when I fail to see it...I have been drawn closer to Him, not just the acts or deeds, but Him...his ways...He has been there in the thick and thin of life...the ups and downs...the joys and the sorrows...drawing me...

And He continues to be there....

Thank YOU...

Psalm 25:5-6 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

Psalm 103:7-8, 14, 17 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
