What are we waiting for?

 What are we waiting for….

The room is filled to capacity….families gathered, rich or poor, all ages, men and women, various cultures…waiting…either this is their consult day, infusion day, radiation day, blood draw day…waiting still…those there to comfort, to be another ear, hold someone’s hand…waiting…some have hope of a good result, others there to hear the hard news…some  have hope of an eternity with Christ while others do not…waiting…that is what some of us face as we go to the cancer treatment center for our appointments…waiting…

Saturday after the crucifixion was a waiting day for some…it was a rest day, a Sabbath…I can only imagine what various people were doing…getting prepared to give Jesus a proper burial…chuckling that the rebel was finally taken care of…grief of  a mother, close friends….soldiers cleaning up the crucifixion site…

Waiting for the Sabbath to be over to get about their daily business….cleaning up after the earthquake….quiet exchanges of what happened on Friday…any number of things…life went on…

But, God ….had another plan…and He was waiting, too…He was working behind the  scene…His plan was much greater than man could ever comprehend…the infinite versus the finite…

 How great are your works, O Lord!Your thoughts are very deep!
