Gardens along the way...6...destroyers....


As I was walking (as usual) yesterday, I came upon the cutest “garden destroyers”...two little girls having fun stripping their mother’s beautiful snowball bush...pulling each flower carefully, leaving bare stems, throwing the tiny individual flowerettes into the air, giggling , making “snow”...the ground around them “littered” with the white blooms...they were having so much fun as the plant was slowly being denuded of its flowers...I asked if they were having fun and they said they were going to pick a bouquet and fill their tiny bucket with “snow” for a surprise...she probably was “surprised” all right.😐

Gardens have other destroyers...frost, drought, bugs of all kinds, diseases, heat, wind, fungi,  hail, hard rains, fires, animals, moisture, lack of care, weeds, poor soil...to name a few...

We, as gardens, have just as many destroyers as well...
We let drought seep into our lives by lack of fellowship, lack of being in the Word, lack of gratitude, lack of worship...

Weeds,  by what we listen to, watch, meditate on, or read...
Lack of cultivation in the Word...
Not fleeing the Temptations which surround us...
Not fleeing Satan’s attempts tear down...
Ignoring the Holy Spirit’s truth...
Lusting...envying, coveting...

And so many more...all destroyers of the gardens of our lives...

God, thank YOU, for gardens along the way, for reminding me of you in lessons simply by looking around...

Help me not let the “destroyer”...rule, gain control...tear down my “garden”...

Genesis 3

And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed. For ye shall be ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the gardens that ye have chosen. For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
Isaiah 1:28-30

And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.
Isaiah 58:11

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Philippians 4:8 

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
