Life boats....
There are 18 large lifeboats which have a capacity of 370 each and a whole lot of inflatable rafts around one of the decks of this boat, plus life jackets for every person, whistles, lights....a whole lot of safety features which you hope you don’t have to use....but, they are there anyway...each well marked to find quickly....
Lots of safety features...to preserve the lives of so many people in this vast mass of water...
I was thinking about the book of Judge in the Bible in relation to these many life savers...it can be broken in to 7 cycles....the down turn of a nation 7 times, judgment and then redemption...over and over again, those “lifeboats” that God answered with...
Or even the wealthy land owner in Matthew 21, who kept sending his servants to collect the fruit from the land...the tenants kept killing them and finally killed the son as well, in order to claim the land as theirs...
Lifeboats...to obedience and safety which were tossed over for something “bigger”...instead the landowner gave the land to someone else...not the Jews...
If we were going down in their big ship, I would take the life boat or some kind of saving device and throw over the ones at hand waiting for something “better”...
God sent prophet after prophet to show the way to Him...and finally sent his only Son for our salvation...there is no one else...the Messiah has come...the Christ, the Savior....He will come again and we need to be ready...waiting for His appearance...thank YOU...
33 “Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place. 34 When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit. 35 “The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third. 36 Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way. 37 Last of all, he sent his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said. 38 “But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and take his inheritance.’ 39 So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?” “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,” they replied, “and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”
Matthew 21:33-41)
