Gardens along the way...40...Hoarfrost...
The fog has settled in...covering the bushes, trees with its penetrating cold...where we lived before, it was called “ white death” by the native Americans... because many died, probably from pneumonia when this type of weather settled in with its coldness and their exposure...
I couldn’t help take a few pictures...historically, I have pictures filed away with frost up to an inch long with its crystal spikes forming along the rims of leaves perfectly lined up ...so beautiful...
It makes me think of times that frost or snow are referenced in the Bible...
Manna
Clean, cleansed
Winter, fear
Comparisons
God can use so many objects, ideas to bring us back to His Word...the world is full....even a tiny bit of ice can warm out hearts with His truth...thank YOU...
(With the small amount of hoarfrost formed this week, I hoped the Israelites had much more, it would taken a lot of effort to collect the manna when it was this thinš)
When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor.
When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was.
Moses said to them, “It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat. This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Everyone is to gather as much as they need.
Take an omer for each person you have in your tent.’” The Israelites did as they were told; some gathered much, some little.
And when they measured it by the omer, the one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.
Everyone had gathered just as much as they needed. Each morning everyone gathered as much as they needed, and when the sun grew hot, it melted away.
Exodus 16:14-18,21
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Psalm 51:7
He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes.
Psalm 147:16
When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
Proverbs 31:21
“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
Isaiah 1:18
