Preparedness...

A check off list for taxes prep....

A check off list for travel....

A bucket of food rations for emergencies....

A box of stuff stashed in the back of a car/truck, flares, chains, water, rags, food....

Spare tire...

Duct tape...

A credit card...

Batteries...

Snow chains ...

Goals and objectives...plans...

Diaper bag...

All these items have a commonality....Preparedness.....

I thought of them as I watched my police officer son undo his vest with all of its tools and gear, which weighs about 25 pounds....he is prepared for a lot of events...some good and some not so good...

We have a choice each day to prepare...putting on the full armor of God...prayer prep...attitude adjustments...smiles...rest...worries and plans...daily schedules, etc...

For me, I awaken early...saying hello to the day and God...thanking Him for the new day...think about prayer requests I know about...lay those out...Bible reading...blog or not...

Preparing as much as I can for the day ahead...many times there are changes, but preparedness helped...attitude preparedness helped...thank YOU...that You light my path, preparing the day for me...

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."
Ephesians 6:10-18

Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
2 Timothy 2:21
