Thankful...
In his Bible study, "The God You May Not Know", Dr. Jeremiah concludes with a chapter, "Knowing God by Name".
He lists just few,
-The Lord is my Shepherd
-The Lord shall provide
-The Lord who heals
-The Lord is my banner
-The Lord who sanctifies
-The Lord who is peace
-The Lord who is righteous
Various names that have been given to describe a few of the attributes of God...there are so many...
Reading why and when those names were given is worshipful in itself...as are other instances...my favorite is the God of comfort...but, he has shown himself in so many ways, shepherding, provision, healing, peace ....the list goes on
On this Thanksgiving Day, I needed to reflect on these so many attributes...with a thankful heart...He has been there through the thick and thin of life...upholding, loving, caring...saving...He is like no other, above all, worthy for praise and thanksgiving...thank YOU, that by Your mercy and grace that you given eternal life...that it is a gift through Your Son who gave it all for me and "whosoever", sinners...You brought life out of the grave! light out of darkness, that we might enjoy life eternal...thank YOU...
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:15,17
