Everything Royal 2...
Yesterday morning I set my recorder on my tv to watch the Royal wedding at more convenient ( to me) time...so I watched it while treading, at lunch, etc...until I finished what I wanted to watch...the setting up, the rich, famous, the common arrivals ....the procession...the service, the candid shots, the vows, the carriage ride...millions spent on this beautiful auspicious day..praying that they truly love and cherish one another, that their lives going forward reflect some of what one of the clergymen spoke of...the love of Christ...
Reading the book, Gospel Patrons, at the same time this event is taking place was interesting...at one time, the Word was restricted to the clergy...it was against the law that "common" man have scriptures...in England and other countries as well...
In the 1500's, the Bible was translated in English so that the everyday person could read scriptures. But, that translation came at great price...jail, pain and sorrow, sacrifice...but revival in England came about because the Word was given out, proclaimed...rich and poor alike could read the very written Word in their own language...
And reading as well, some of the psalms written by another King...David...his asking to be closer, forgiven...
Fast forward to the present...a Black pastor speaking at a royal wedding...the cameras panning the audience...looks of distain, boredom, rapture, laughter, cynicism, sleepiness, happiness were caught on the camera for the world to see...the Word spoken with passion...in English, in freedom...may those words touch someone's heart, burrowing in, convicting...bringing some to the Real Throne of the Eternal Father of light and love...
Thank YOU that your light shines brightly...in royal palaces, in darkened dungeons...
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go to the house of God under the protection of the Mighty One with shouts of joy and praise among the festive throng.
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.
Then I will go to the altar of God, to God, my joy and my delight. I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.
Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Psalm 42:1-5,43:3-5
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 5:20-6:2
