Towel warmers….
One of the homes we lived in had towel warmers in the bathroom…what a luxury….stepping out of the warm shower , to be enfolded by a warm towel…wow…it felt so good…it wasn’t the shock one usually gets with cooler air reaching for a towel…it was warm to warm…I didn’t even know there was such a thing until then…
So,what does that have to do with real life? I don’t know…I thought it was interesting…
No, I was thinking about worry, anxiety …it can shower us, enfold us, keeping us, not letting go…and we go around shrouded in the covering, not ever leaving it’s “comfort”…not feeling the invigorating freedom of letting God take care of us, take care of the problem, giving Him the burden…not believing in his promises…not giving him a chance to work out the good he promises…not seeing Him work his will…instead of our finite solutions…
Oh, don’t even think I don’t worry…that would be a lie…..that I don’t get anxious…another lie…I want to get to the point where I immediately cast my cares on Him…I haven’t reached that point yet…but, there is a point when I realize, I cannot solve the problem and only He can…then the freedom in Him is amazing…God usually doesn’t solve problems “my” way, but always so much better…
Thank YOU…
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
