Marching orders…
I thought this phase for sure came from the book of Joshua…but, no…first used in 1714 by someone’s estimate…but it fits regardless…
Purported to be one of the oldest cities, lowest in elevation…about six miles from the Dead Sea…Jesus visited it, met and dined with zaccheus, healed two blind men…
God destroyed it in Joshua’s time…by the walls falling down after days of marching around it…one time for six days, silently , and on the seventh day, 7 times…about 1 and a quarter miles around…then times 7 …with shouts and the blowing of the rams horn…
If I were a resident of that city, it would be a bit creepy having people walk around each day…the silence would be deafening…the rumors and murmuring would be tortuous…and then the victory that only the Lord of all the earth could do…

Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”

What are the “marching orders” that God gives us…what is He teaching from His Word, the Holy Spirit…we know that what God promises he will do…we know that He is with us…
Jesus changed Zaccheus’ heart…healed the blind…he came to a city that has been destroyed by God for its wickedness …rebuilt at a cost…He gave those a second chance…He redeemed…
