Noise makers...

Noise makers....

I have been “chaperoning” a sixteen and four year old while their parents are away at business seminar. This is not “babysitting “ anymore as neither are babies. ( really, they grew up too fast!)

Anyway, the four year old has mastered the two wheeler, with no training wheels.

So remembering what my father did so long ago, the fifteen year old and I worked on putting cards or plastic pieces on first the rear wheels to make a motor sound. Then we proceeded to add two more cards to front wheels to add yet another layer of sound. So now with simple duct tape and pieces of plastic, the bike is a “4 cylinder “ card bike. Still motorized by boy power, but sounding great. Am so sure his parents will appreciate the new sounds when they are home.

My parents, it seemed at the time, picked presents for my children which made noises and sounds. And then returned to their quiet homes, thinking I would appreciate their gifting. Gratefully, the batteries died and the sounds quieted for periods of time, except the wind up ones.

Simple things like a piece of plastic and duct tape can entertain for long periods of time both the young and old...

The simple gospel can save all ages ...it is understood by the young with childlike simple faith ...the older have to wade through the noise of life’s journeys but can find the simple faith as well...

Thank YOU that your word is true, that we can come believing, confessing our sins, seeking you with simple, uncomplicated words for an eternal life which you promise freely...

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
Psalm 119:130
Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.”
Proverbs 9:6

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment —to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
Ephesians 1:3-10
