Little things...

Little things...

Just watched a Luci  Swindell dvd from the “Joy filled Life” series...
She is amazingly humorous, open, vulnerable about life happenings...

One of her statements in this particular dvd is, “ notice the little things in your life, God is always working through, always planning forward in your behalf. Each day God in His goodness has given us His grace”.

There are times when we are just annoyed at the little things that seem to add up into a big annoyance...the neighbor mowing his lawn at 9:30 at night, the traffic at noon, the person in line who forgets something and has to “run” get it.....such “life changing annoyances”....”little foxes”

Song of Solomon 2:15 “catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards that are in bloom”...annoyances....

So I looked up little, small, tiny...

Patience....The Lord your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you.
Deuteronomy 7:22

Envy....but the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb he had bought. He raised it, and it grew up with him and his children. It shared his food, drank from his cup and even slept in his arms. It was like a daughter to him.
2 Samuel 12:3

Provision, obedience....“As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.” Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’”
1 Kings 17:12-14

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
Matthew 10:29-31

34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked. “Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.” He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children.
Matthew 15:34-38

Care in times of trouble....“But now, for a brief moment, the Lord our God has been gracious in leaving us a remnant and giving us a firm place in his sanctuary, and so our God gives light to our eyes and a little relief in our bondage.
Ezra 9:8

Value....Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked;
Psalm 37:16
Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil. Better a small serving of vegetables with love than a fattened calf with hatred.
Proverbs 15:16-17

Kindness...I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them.
Hosea 11:4

“Who dares despise the day of small things,....”
Zechariah 4:10a

A Savior...“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”
Micah 5:2

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:8-12

Grace is a big thing, but sometimes it comes wrapped in small things...the daily grace moments that we oftentimes overlook...that favor that tends to go unnoticed...

Open my eyes to see the little things, the favor YOU have bestowed...help me not to caught up in annoyances but the thanksgiving....

Thank YOU...

I found this flower...these little flowers are less than 1/2 inch, but add up into a huge stock about 5 feet tall...of glorious color...but notice the little detail...
