Wikipedia ..."A comfort zone is a psychological state in which things feel familiar to a person and they are at ease and in control of their environment, experiencing low levels of anxietyand stress. In this zone, a steady level of performance is possible.[1]
Bardwick defines the term as "a behavioral state where a person operates in an anxiety-neutral position."[2] Brown describes it as "Where our uncertainty, scarcity and vulnerability are minimized—where we believe we'll have access to enough love, food, talent, time, admiration. Where we feel we have some control."[3]""
Doesn't this sound like a great place to live?
No challenges, no conflict, ....just a good time all the time...kind of like having Christmas every day...
Each day spilling over into the next ...kind of sounds boring ...there are times in our lives when we need these days after prolonged conflict or illness...we want that comfort zone...a place to rest...recoup...predictable ...
Iamsecond.com is a website with various people's testimonies...most are not about comfort zones...but, how God worked in their lives to save them...to give them new lives, purpose, reality, transformation ...well worth watching , pondering...
Thank YOU that you came, lived, died and rose again that we may be saved, may have new lives..new purpose...even when it is not comfortable...
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:5-11
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will.
For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Romans 12:2-3
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.
2 Corinthians 3:18,4:2
