Slip and slide…
Slip and slide, a game played with a roll of plastic, some good slippery soap, water, a slightly inclined yard and a bunch of people…I recently witnessed this game but the winning was going up the hill not sliding down…a challenge…we talk about a slippery slope…we get involved with something that takes our joy, our thought and pretty soon, there we go down the slope back to our sin nature…not guarding our promises…reading this psalm, the author begins with how mighty is our God, his instruction, judgment and we go directly to the thought that others are FINALLY going to be taken care of…but, no….we find out He is going to judge his people first…what a deflater! Aren’t those around me needing that before me…my pride steps up…then I read about needing a clean heart ….my sins assail me…my thoughts, actions that I have let slide down that slippery slope…
I have slid…
As much as I don’t want it, I need His judgement….His discipline…
Thank YOU…
The Mighty Judge…
