Mountains….

Part of yesterday, I was immersed in a collection of rocks…was thinking about Genesis 1, where the Word tells us of the separation of land from the waters…”dry land” …but it doesn’t say anything about the mountains thy must have appeared on that dry land…those descriptions don’t come until later…

Genesis 1: 9 And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

There are over 150 references to mountains, both huge ones and small…we support a missionary in Nepal….those are big mountains!!!! As well as missionaries in the deserts…no mountains…

Deuteronomy 33: 15 with the finest produce of the ancient mountains

and the abundance of the everlasting hills,

Psalm 95: 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth;

the heights of the mountains are his also.

Psalm 104:8 The mountains rose, the valleys sank down

to the place that you appointed for them.

9 You set a boundary that they may not pass,

so that they might not again cover the earth.

Proverbs 8: 25 Before the mountains had been shaped,

before the hills, I (wisdom) was brought forth,

Isaiah 54:10 For the mountains may depart

    and the hills be removed,

but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,

and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,”

says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Amos 4:13 For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind,

and declares to man what is his thought,

who makes the morning darkness,

and treads on the heights of the earth—

the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!

But mountains exist all over the world….whose heights seem to reach the sky and those which are small, rolling grain covered ones…all have their beauty…

After looking at a few of the rocks collected by one man, and our family’s history with rocks,  the creativity of God is so profound in just one area of creation…the colors, the uses, for formation, the types of rocks are so amazing…so precise…

With that same precision, He made us as well, beauty, Colors, types, uses, formation….so amazing….

Thank YOU….

Shout to the Lord…
