Loneliness….reading the first verse of this section, the word lonely comes up…that word only comes up three times in the Bible search, synonyms come up though…I thought about it…raised as an only child, on ranches in California, I never really thought about being lonely…there was always something to do…animals, other ranching families, get togethers, school…I was never bored…even after I got married, before children, my husband was away a lot of the time with geology exploration…then of course children don’t leave you lonely, with their chatter, activities…even widowhood has not been lonely( it’s not something I would choose and I do miss my husband)……I have come to realize that loneliness can be a choice and in some ways, I have been trained to be alone over the experiences of my life…God has always been there to talk to, listen…I am so grateful for Him…he may not be an audible voice, but he is there all the same…

 How lonely sits the city that was full of people!

How like a widow has she become,she who was great among the nations!

She who was a princess among the provinces has become a slave. 

She weeps bitterly in the night,with tears on her cheeks;among all her  lovers she has none to comfort her;

all her friends have dealt treacherously with her;

they have become her enemies. 

Judah has gone into exile because of affliction and hard servitude;

she dwells now among the nations,but finds no resting place;

her pursuers have all overtaken her-in the midst of her distress.

17.The troubles of my heart are enlarged;

bring me out of my distresses. 

 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,and he delivered them from their distress.

 O Lord, you have searched me and known me!

Try me and know my thoughts!

This God—his way is perfect;the word of the Lord proves true;he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.

22.Redeem Israel, O God,out of all his troubles.
