Seek out…

Have you ever been told, “you know you should be________?”

A teacher, a server, a giver, an encourager, a counselor, a researcher………

Over fifty yers ago, two young men were camping, discussing life around the campfire….one said to the other, “ you should be a pastor” to which he retorted, “you are a giver”….

Now these two barely had two dimes to rub together….seminary was out of site and giving was hard to do with a minimal amount of income, in fact no income at the time…but the ideas were planted….

Soon, seminary became available for the first….a job opened up for the second….God had provided both… and as they say, “ the rest is history….”

The first went on to be a pastor of many and even retired, still is…

The second went on to be a successful businessman with a focus on giving and left a legacy of giving to his family to steward in the years to come…

God worked mightily in the little and the large in these two men’s lives because they obeyed  His calling on their lives…they were not perfect and they had tough times, but God carried them through as well as their families….they took the gifts that God had given them and used them for His kingdom….

What gifts and talents has God bestowed on you….?   Use them faithfully….with enthusiasm, a worker in God’s kingdom….

Jeremiah 42: 20b For you sent me to the Lord your God, saying, ‘Pray for us to the Lord our God, and whatever the Lord our God says, declare to us and we will do it.’

I Corinthians 12: 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

Romans 12:6 we have different gifts

according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with yourfnfaith;

7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;

8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,fn do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

There is such joy in living out obedience….
