14 years…
Last week was the anniversary of my late husband’s passing…in some ways it seems like a long time ago, other times-just yesterday….a bunch of grandchildren have been born and now three great grandsons….one even carrying his full name…
These will never know him, nor ride on his back around the living room, playing horsey…the laughter, the story telling…even the lessons on gold/garnent panning, or ride in a red truck of his…or ride in the mountains searching for some minerals to mine…
Even though they won’t know him here on earth, they will each have a legacy of his giving…his teaching on money management…they may not heed it, but it will be there…some will have a legacy of his wool shirts in some form or another…
I often see and hear something from the family and wish he were here to see or hear it, but alas he isn’t, so I chuckle for him and know that he would have enjoyed.
I sometimes wonder why he had to leave so early, but I have to set those thoughts aside and not dwell there. My life has been so different without him…
God has carried out his promise to be my husband…to provide, to advise, to take care of me…to love me…and those are what I needed…even through the hard times…he has sent friends, songs in the night and day, his Word has taught, admonished, lit my path and comforted me…
Just writing these words hurts and brings me to tears, grief still stings…but, God has a plan and he means it for good….
Thank YOU…
Psalm 23
Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Blessings…
