 Psalm 46:1-3…a Might fortress is our God…1…

We get ready to celebrate the Birth of Jesus…a tiny baby born to be the Messiah…we see pictures , scenes all around of a baby… of Emmanuel, Prince of peace….shepherds bowing, angels proclaiming…a busy town…parents rejoicing and pondering…but another side written about is the power and Majesty…

True, he came as a baby to relate to His Creation…he became  man who knew no sin…take upon his mighty shoulders all creations’ sin ….

That we might have eternal life by our surrendering…death and resurrection awaited this child…because He alone is our real refuge and strength ….

 1.  God is our refuge and strength,a very present help in trouble. 

 The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,a stronghold in times of trouble.

Ps.9.9

 You would shame the plans of the poor,but the Lord is his refuge.

Ps.14.6

 For what great nation is there that has a god so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him?

Deut.4.7

2.  Therefore we will not fear though the earth give way,though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 

 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil,for you are with me;your rod and your staff,they comfort me.

Ps.23.4

Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. 

Your throne is established from of old;you are from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O Lord,the floods have lifted up their voice;the floods lift up their roaring. 

Mightier than the thunders of many waters,mightier than the waves of the sea,the Lord on high is mighty! 

Your decrees are very trustworthy;holiness befits your house,O Lord, forevermore.
