Do what you are supposed to do…
Joshua was mentored by Moses…but, the Lord filled him with the spirit of leadership…
Others were gifted in craftsmanship to design the Tabernacle, build a boat, lead others, follow after God’s heart, be a friend…later to be disciples, writers, prophets, even make it through hardships, be examples, etc…
We still are gifted by the Holy Spirit, with spiritual gifts…those gifts that motivate us to serve God, others…
I like that Moses encouraged, exhorted Joshua in this, “ be courageous, be strong, be careful, be ready “…those words were not just for him but for generations of leaders, servers in the kingdom…do what you have been given to do…
Thank YOU…
“May the Lord, the God who gives breath to all living things, appoint someone over this community to go out and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit of leadership, and lay your hand on him.
Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the entire assembly and commission him in their presence.
Give him some of your authority so the whole Israelite community will obey him.
He is to stand before Eleazar the priest, who will obtain decisions for him by inquiring of the Urim before the Lord.
At his command he and the entire community of the Israelites will go out, and at his command they will come in.”
Num.27.16-21
Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deut.31.7,Deut.31.8
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life.
As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
“Be strong and very courageous.
Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Josh.1.1-9
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.
And be thankful.
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Col.3.15-17
I choose Jesus…
